How to identify the correct Toshiba / Dynabook charger

Connector type & size: Most Toshiba/Dynabook laptops use a barrel plug 5.5×2.5 mm (centre-positive).
Selected newer models support USB-C Power Delivery (PD). Match your laptop’s charging port.
Wattage rating: Choose the same or higher wattage than the original (never lower).
Common ratings: 45W, 65W, 90W, 120W, 135W, and 180W (high-performance/Qosmio).
Check the label on your old adapter.
Voltage & current: Most barrel adapters output 19–19.5V (e.g. 19V⎓3.42A = 65W; 19V⎓4.74A = 90W).
For USB-C, ensure the charger supports the required PD profiles (often 20V/3.25A ≈ 65W or higher).
Model name & series: e.g. Satellite / Satellite Pro, Tecra, Portégé, Qosmio and current Dynabook lines.

Charging tips & best practice

A higher-wattage genuine-spec charger is safe; the laptop only draws what it needs. Avoid going below the original wattage.
Tip types are not cross-compatible: barrel 5.5×2.5 vs USB-C PD. Match the port on your laptop.
USB-C charging: use a PD charger that advertises the required 20V profile and an E-Marked cable (especially for 65–100W).
Keep the adapter ventilated; avoid covering the brick during heavy use or charging.
