Can I use a 230W charger on a laptop that came with 180W?

Yes — higher wattage is fine (and may help sustain boost clocks under load). Do not use a lower-wattage adapter.

Will a 100W USB-C charger run my gaming MSI?

It can power light use on USB-C-capable models, but heavy gaming may throttle or drain slowly. For full performance, use the rated barrel adapter (e.g. 180–230W).

How do I read my old adapter label?
